Final Order Cutoff (FOC) is the deadline comic shops have to finalize their orders with distributors. After this date, retailers usually can’t adjust their numbers, which means if you haven’t preordered your copy, your shop may not have extras on release day.
FOC typically falls 3–4 weeks before a comic hits shelves, and it’s one of the most important dates in the life of a single issue. Preorders placed before FOC help your local comic shop order accurately, reduce the risk of sellouts, and directly support the creators and publishers behind the book.
